From four young women at the University of Arkansas to 400,000 nationwide

Chi Omega has thrived and grown over the years, while keeping her values, ever at heart. In 1895, Chi Omega’s founding members, also members of the Missionary Generation, a generation known for having some of the first graduates of women’s colleges, teamed together to create what is now the largest woman’s panhellenic organization.

At the 64th biennial National Convention of Chi Omega, held June 24th-26th in Phoenix, AZ, our delegates elected the next Supreme Governing Council of Chi Omega to serve the Fraternity as national officers for the 2022-2024 biennium.

Every spring, Chi Omega asks Sisters all over the country to surprise our more “senior Sisters” who are celebrating 75 years of Chi Omega membership with a special recognition certificate and white carnation flowers.

Since 1900, the Governing Council has chosen at least one young woman who upholds the true meaning of Chi Omega, excels in her studies, is loved by her friends, and exemplifies the six purposes to serve as the Supreme Governing Council Model Initiate (SGCMI) at each Convention.

Congratulations to the following chapters receiving awards at Convention 2016!

At the 61st biennial National Convention of Chi Omega held in Orlando, Florida from June 23-June 25, 2016, the delegates elected the Supreme Governing Council of Chi Omega to serve the Fraternity as national officers for the 2016-2018 biennium.

During Convention 2016, S.H. Shelley Potter unveiled a project two years in the making – the reveal of Chi Omega’s new visual identity and themeline.

As many of our Sisters know, collegians are faced with many choices as they start their college experiences. Sororities are just one of those choices. And, without the benefit of knowledge about what makes Chi Omega Sisterhood unique, the landscape of sororities all blends together. Especially, if all someone has to go on is a few Greek letters in a logo and a line of inspiring words.

Our 2019-2020 National Leadership Consultants have officially wrapped up their year! From traveling across the country last semester, to conducting annual visits via zoom calls this semester, these Sisters have worked tirelessly to ensure our chapters are supported through it all, and we’re so thankful for all they’ve accomplished!

Chi Omega is proud to announce that S.H. Shelley Potter has been awarded the highest honor one can receive from Texas A&M University – the Distinguished Alumni Award.
