Let’s Get to Know Sister Elyce Arons a Little More!

Sister Elyce Arons joined the Lambda Chapter of Chi Omega during her first year at the University of Kansas.

She emphasized that during her time as a collegian, she loved being in Chi Omega because of the tight-knit community it brought her.

“It was enormous and gave me immediate friends… it also increased my grade point average. I loved being a part of the house and I am glad it can continue throughout my life.”

Mental health and wellness are of great importance in her life. Elyce and her brand, Frances Valentine, support mental health causes through the Hope for Depression Research Foundation. When it comes to prioritizing her own mental health we asked her what she does to take care of herself and she said that it is important to take time each day to relax, sit, and be with yourself.

“I think there is a real mental health crisis among high school and college age students and I don't think there are resources that are easily accessible to them, but having a really strong community of people around you who are aware of the challenges of today is really important.”

She believes that Chi Omega is great for providing support to today’s collegians through the mental health resources that are provided to Sisters. The Chi Omega Foundation is a big part in supporting these mental health initiatives and she supports them because it is important to be a part of a community.
