400,000th Member CELEBRATION

From four young women at the University of Arkansas to 400,000 nationwide

Chi Omega has thrived and grown over the years, while keeping her values ever at heart. In 1895, Chi Omega’s founding members, also members of the Missionary Generation, a generation known for having some of the first graduates of women’s colleges, teamed together to create what is now the largest woman’s panhellenic organization.

Fourteen original members would grow to be 100, then 100,000, and today, 400,000 women have found their heart and home in Chi Omega. Comprised mostly of Gen Z, today’s members continue to blaze trails and forge opportunities for women.

Why does it all matter?

What does our size allow us to do? We are 400,000 like-hearted Sisters who have shared values, serving the world in so many ways with Chi Omega, ever at heart.

Our size provides a larger web of networking, an abundance of helping hands to support each other throughout our lives, creates philanthropists who are cultivating lives of purpose to support the Make-A-Wish® and local philanthropies, and so much more.

The future of Chi Omega continues to shine brighter through each passing year because of our generational diversity. We learn and grow from one another, challenging each other, all while keeping Chi Omega’s values at the forefront. As S.H. National President Laura Miller says, “We are like-hearted, not like-minded, and that’s what makes this organization so special.”

Thank you all for choosing wisely.
