My family was struck with surmounted medical bills after my mother nearly passed away in the hospital. These obstacles made me worry that I would have to abandon my dream of earning a degree. My Chi Omega Sisters encouraged me to apply for the Helping Hands Fund for Undergraduate Support.
The fund was instrumental in allowing me to continue my education. It helped cover the cost of books and materials, enabling me to succeed in all classes, participate in several research projects, get published, volunteer for various organizations, and support others who have faced similar challenges.
Chi Omega has taught me the importance of resilience and the strength of community. As a Native and Hispanic woman in STEM and research, my journey has been unique, and the support from my Sisters has been invaluable. Chi Omega has instilled in me a deep sense of purpose and the conviction to never give up, no matter the challenges. Moving forward in my life and career, I aspire to show the same generosity and support to others.

I was prompted to apply for the grant when I realized I was working so much that it was starting to affect my studies as a pre-law major. Being the daughter of a single mother with three kids in college, I didn’t want to be a financial burden to her. While I have always worked to support myself, it was stressful looking for part-time jobs and balancing my studies.
The Helping Hands Fund for Undergraduate Support has impacted me greatly. It has covered the cost of my books, which are expensive as a pre-law major. It has also helped me to focus more on my studies and leadership roles on campus, including being on the Sisterhood Support Team, our Centennial Celebration committee, and the W.I.N.G.S. program on campus, which mentors and integrates special needs students.
I have learned many things about Chi Omega, including it is okay to lean on your Sisters when you are in need. My Sisters stand firm by me, and an provide unconditional amount of love and support-including those who give to the Helping Hands Fund.

As a first-generation college student, the Helping Hands Fund for Undergraduate Support has been a generous help for me while attending graduate school at the University of Minnesota-Duluth this fall. I was prompted to apply for this grant because I am paying for my college education by myself.
This fund has helped me move on to afford further education, as it has helped cover some educational expenses during my undergraduate studies. I am now in the Water Resources Master's program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. I will study and research emerging contaminants in aquatic environments that impact our daily lives.
I am grateful to Chi Omega for allowing me to grow in ways I could’ve never imagined in college, though I never saw myself as a leader, my Sisters elected me as Vice President and I have grown tremendously. This fund has allowed me to further my studies in an important field and I hope to pay this kindness forward in the future.

Chi Omega was - and remains - a transformative experience for me; sorority life is an unparalleled laboratory to grow female leadership. The Helping Hands Fund is an important initiative to maintain that laboratory and helps reduce cost as a
barrier to membership.

As a long-time advisor, I have witnessed the challenges and financial burdens our members face over the years. It's powerful to know that my contribution will directly help a Sister in a time of need to continue her Chi Omega journey. The impact that Chi Omega has had on my life is the reason why I donate to the Helping Hands Fund.

I think we - as women - need to
take a leadership role when it comes to supporting our Fraternity to help foster younger members. I give to
the Foundation in memory of a Sister who passed suddenly and because Chi Omega has given so much to
me both in friendship and in
executive leadership.

Becoming a Chi Omega changed my life - I've made lifelong friends and continue to meet incredible Sisters. I would not have been able to join Chi Omega without support from my family and the work-study program on campus, and I am incredibly grateful. I want to support young women to become Chi Omegas and experience the same life-changing Sisterhood.
