The Helping Hands fund for undergraduate support

The application has reached its cap of 50 applicants and is now closed.  The application will reopen for the spring semester on February 1, 2025

In collaboration with the Special Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging and upon the recommendations of the 2020-2022 Governing Council, Chi Omega established an Undergraduate Support Fund to ensure that financial hardship and barriers to membership could be recognized, supported and addressed.

The purpose of the Helping Hands Fund for Undergraduate Support is to aid undergraduate Chi Omega members who establish financial need.  If selected, the applicant will directly receive a one-time grant of assistance for basic necessities which may include room and board, tuition and fees, educational supplies and medical expenses.  Although Chi Omega dues are excluded from basic necessities, the purpose of the grant is to assist with financial obligations that may present barriers to membership or hardships in maintaining membership.

A message of thanks from one of the fund’s first recipients: “Thank you so much! Chi Omega has been so good to me! You have no idea how much this will help me…Thank you again, this brought tears to my eyes.”
